The Marketing and Audiences team are responsible for ensuring IWM’s brand story is interpreted by current and new audiences in a clear, relevant and compelling way. They understand who our customers are, understand what will motivate them to interact with us and continually visit our sites. Marketing and Audiences are a corporate function with responsibility across all 5 sites of the museum and they are well connected and proactive, working collaboratively within the museum to ensure we tell a consistent story. They have a lead role in the engagement of all consumer audiences and an advisory role to all other customer groups.

Their main responsibilities are:

 Brand development and understanding
 Audience insight
 Customer engagement and campaign management

You will have a key role in the planning, implementation and evaluation of creative marketing campaigns (using all elements of the marketing mix) that will drive visitors and income to all IWM sites, with major focus on IWM North.

You will be expected to work as part of the Marketing and Audience Team, as well as across different departments in order to contribute to and deliver the priorities of IWM – using your knowledge, skills, talent and potential to the best of your ability.


You will focus on delivering excellent customer service and ensuring value for money while being professional, courteous and demonstrating the behaviours and attributes expected of all IWM employees.

You will be expected to use the Marketing and Audience Team’s project management and campaign planning tools, as well as comply with corporate standards, use corporate systems, processes and procedures – and undertake any necessary training as directed.
