The Royal Exchange Theatre sits at the heart of Manchester’s culturally dynamic city centre. We are one of the largest and most compelling producing theatre companies in the UK.
Our Creative Learning & Engagement department have a new and exciting opportunity to join their team as the Culture Champions Project Coordinator on a fixed term and part time basis. The role is funded by Ambition for Ageing which is part of Ageing Better, a programme set up by The National Lottery Community Fund. Ageing Better aims to develop creative ways for people aged over 50 to be actively involved in their local communities, helping to combat social isolation and loneliness.
The Manchester Culture Champions is a programme started by Manchester City Council’s Age-Friendly team in 2011 and is designed to put older people at the heart of their own cultural activities. The Champions inform Manchester’s older people’s networks and communities about the variety of cultural events taking place in Manchester throughout the year.
The Royal Exchange will now lead the programme into its next phase and therefore are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual to help deliver the smooth running and organisation of the programme in the position of Manchester Culture Champions Project Coordinator.
