Grizedale Arts seeks a Finance and Administrative Officer, to support the organisation’s day-to-day operations and its financial and administrative systems. We are looking for the right candidate to grow and learn with us as we expand our offer with the purchase of The Farmer’s Arms

Grizedale Arts (GA)is a registered charity based in the Lake District National Park. Its main function is to support access to the arts, particularly the arts in relation to the environment. The organisation has worked from its residency base and HQ Lawson Park Farm for the past 10 years, focusing its activity to engage their immediate community in conjunction with an international rural arts community.

In 2019 Grizedale Arts launched ‘The Valley’ a programme to work more collectively with its stakeholders and the communities of the Crake Valley alongside its network of international partners. To this end, in 2021 – with the encouragement and support of the local community – it is purchasing The Farmer’s Arms in Lowick, a Grade II listed Inn at the head of the valley (find out more on the project’s website). The post of Finance and Administrative Officer has been created to not only support this development, but also to assist with the ongoing running of the organisations existing buildings and projects.

Although this post is offered initially on a 16 hours a week p/t contract, this is likely to increase once The Farmer’s Arms is open and operational. The successful applicant will be a self-starter, motivated and resourceful with excellent written and spoken communication skills, and a methodical attention to detail. The post-holder will be line managed by the Valley Project Manager (with input from the Director) and be based at The Farmer’s Arms and occasionally at Lawson Park. The post will offer flexible working hours and some home working if desirable.
