Big changes. No excuses. That’s what we’re delivering at Wirral Council. We’ve got ambitious targets to meet by 2020. To achieve everything we have promised to our residents, we need people who are driven and ready to deliver the very best for our communities.

Wirral is home to vibrant, energetic and engaged communities, people who take real ownership of their local area and are passionate about making Wirral a better place.

It is a fantastic place to live, work and visit.

We are an employer who supports, who is flexible but who demands the very best.

In this role you will assist the Principal Museums Officer in the development of exhibitions and displays drawn from Wirral’s collections and external providers; and support the Senior Keeper in ensuring the smooth running of exhibition installations and object movement.

In this role, you will develop exhibitions under the direction of the Principal Museums Officer. You will support the Learning Officer and marketing team in the creation and implementation of engagement plans for specific exhibitions.

You will ensure that all necessary documentation is accurate and disseminated to all concerned parties in a timely manner.

We are looking for someone who can deliver interesting and diverse exhibitions using our collections and work bought in.

You’ll need to be qualified in a relevant discipline and have experience working in a gallery and/or museum setting, including their stores.

Your experience will include handling a range of museum and gallery objects safely.

You will need a track record of liaising with external contractors and maintaining security in stores and gallery spaces.

Above all you will be looking to improve the way we engage with our employees/residents/customers to ensure they are at the heart of everything we do.

Interviews are planned for Monday 9 December 2019.

No holding back. No excuses. Just change Wirral.
