Director – £200/day
Director wanted for approximately two days’ R&D work on a new script, exploring themes of statehood, migration and home. The piece is a monologue by Aliki Chapple, currently in development, and is now at a stage where it needs a directorial eye to get it on its feet and collaborate with Aliki (who will also perform it) on identifying gaps and moving the script forwards.
This call is for four 2.5hr sessions in October via Zoom (or similar).
The fee is £100 per session (£400 total).
Because of the personal nature of the piece and the current constraints of working remotely, we will ask the chosen candidate to read the script (c.10,000 words) and have a 1hr scoping conversation with Aliki before agreeing terms for the full four sessions. We will pay an additional £50 for this trial session.
Following this R&D, there are plans to develop the piece into a solo show for a small tour, so there is potential future work for the right candidate.
Please send expressions of interest (max 500 words) to email@example.com with DIRECTOR in the subject line.
Deadline: 22nd September, 5pm.
This call is open to all, but we are particularly keen to hear from directors with lived experience of migration/immigration and/or dual nationality or culture.
This is a remote role, and we will work with any access needs/flexibility you require, including childcare and other caring responsibilities, disability or chronic condition, mental health conditions, or any other needs you choose to disclose. We actively encourage applications from disabled and/or neurodivergent applicants, and if you wish to apply using an alternative format please email Eleanor. If applicants have any questions or would like an informal conversation before applying, please email to arrange a time to speak, or if you prefer email communication feel free to email your questions: firstname.lastname@example.org
