Have you developed and delivered high profile media campaigns? Do you have an innovative and creative approach?
The Science Museum Group is here to inspire futures. As part of this world-leading collective, the Science and Industry Museum has an exciting strategic vision to be an internationally recognised museum with a strong Manchester personality.
As Communications Manager based at SIM in Manchester, you will lead on telling authentic stories by providing an editorial and content-first approach to a high impact, integrated communications strategy. You will champion our vision, increase our profile, footfall and income to the museum, exhibitions, events and festivals through a sustained period of exciting change.
You will also have a group-wide responsibility to co-ordinate an internal communications editorial plan to engage employees at our sites across the UK.
You will work closely with colleagues across the Group to ensure a consistent approach to communicating SMG objectives and experiences, whilst promoting a distinctive offer for SIM. Working alongside the Marketing Manager and colleagues across the Museum, you’ll identify, develop and deliver fully integrated and aligned PR campaigns and an editorial plan that focuses on our target audiences and supports organisational objectives. You’ll manage and enhance the Museum’s reputation with audiences, stakeholders and the media by taking responsibility for proactive and reactive PR, alongside content and PR planning for key projects, such as Manchester Science Festival.
Joining us, you’ll have experience of running high profile media campaigns within a press office or journalistic role, along with demonstrable contacts with media and an ability to cultivate new partnerships for the benefit of the Museum. You’ll have an innovative and creative approach, with the ability to produce effective and influential PR and comms copy.
You will be offered excellent benefits, including 27 days annual leave in addition to bank holidays, a contributory pension scheme, BUPA medical and dental care, an annual season ticket loan and numerous staff discounts whilst developing your career in a world class museum group.
