Cheshire East Council seeks to commission a Creative Producer to organise World War 1 commemorative events of high artistic quality.
Cheshire East Reflects is a four year programme of activities and events to commemorate the First World War for the residents of and visitors to Cheshire East. This is a collaborative programme bringing together the Local Authority, community groups, organisations and partners such as the Imperial War Museum North.
The Creative Producer will support events in August Bank Holiday 2018 and co-ordinate the end of war commemorations in November 2018.
Two events will take place in November 2018, Armistice weekend. These will be the culmination of a participatory project involving schools, community groups and partners. They will bring to life stories of how the people of Cheshire East experienced the First World War.
All events must be in keeping with the tone of the Cheshire East Reflects programme: reflective, memorable, thought-provoking, atmospheric and participative. Public participation is to include all age ranges, community arts organisations, WW1 groups, and represent all areas of Cheshire East.
August Bank Holiday 2018: family picnic and music event, military event (Tatton Park)
November 10th 2018: projection mapping and multi-arts event (Crewe)
November 11th 2018: formal extinguishing of commemorative flame, projection mapping and multi-arts event (Tatton Park)
The appointed person, company or partnership, will bring this vision to life, working alongside and in consultation with the Cheshire East Reflects Steering Group other stakeholders. They will work closely with the Cheshire East Reflects Education Co-ordinators to engage schools and uniformed groups. They will have significant arts event management and commissioning experience, and experience of managing large budgets.
This is a fixed term contract to run from mid-October 2017 until end of November 2018.
