FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) is the UK’s leading organisation for commissioning, exhibiting, promoting and supporting artists’ work and innovation in the fields of film, video, and new media.  We believe in the ability of individuals and communities to express themselves creatively, and work with international artists to develop exhibitions, increase knowledge about new technologies and their social impact.

Housed in the iconic FACT building in the historic Ropewalks area, two galleries, FACT Connects – a public engagement space and state-of-the-art cinemas invite visitors to experience a range of FACT activities from exhibitions and new forms of broadcasting to training and conferences; and finding new and interactive ways to encourage engagement throughout its programming spaces and in partnership with a broad range of participants and audiences.

Purpose of post
The purpose of the role will be to help to diversify and grow our activities, impacts and income streams, in line with our business plan and with a focus on commercial digital and creative industries (DCI) markets.

In particular, this will involve a lead role in the development of relationships with companies and other stakeholders in the DCI and wider commercial sector, in order to maximise business engagement, profitable income generation and wider economic impact from FACT products, services and projects – including events, venue and AV hire, production, training, collaborative innovation & IP development, creative enterprise development services, commercial partnerships and more. The post will work collaboratively with teams across the organisation.

About you
You are innovative, outgoing, entrepreneurial and tech-savvy, with a successful track record of helping businesses to develop and exploit excellent creative content, products and services.

You have a range of skills, knowledge and experience relevant to creative business development including sales, account management, co-design, and product and service innovation.

You have worked within digital and creative businesses yourself, and may have helped others to innovate and grow. You may also have experience of helping artists and arts-led organisations to become more sustainable and to deliver more commercial and economic impact from what they do. You will certainly have a strong interest in helping FACT to achieve this objective – maximising income from existing services, while helping us to develop and implement innovative new products and services.

You are a proactive networker, collaborator, and communicator – probably a recognised face in the Liverpool digital and creative scene already, with extensive industry networks and the ability to identify and build effective relationships across the cultural and commercial sectors.

You are passionate about film, video and new media art, co-design and maker culture; disruptive innovation; creative technology; and supporting the growth of FACT and Liverpool City Region’s wider digital and creative community.
