News From Nowhere Radical & Community Bookshop
We’re looking for someone to join our collective (currently all-women) to share all tasks and responsibilities in running this busy high-street business
Position: Bookseller
Hours: 32 hours per week (4 days) including frequent weekends
Pay: £7.50 per hr (minimum wage – all of us are paid the same rate)
News From Nowhere is a long-established radical & feminist bookshop, run on a not-for-profit basis by a workers’ co-operative
The business is managed by the workers collectively.
We are looking for someone who ….
Supports radical & feminist politics
Is interested in & loves books
Can work carefully & accurately
Is committed to working collectively
Would have a long-term commitment to the job
We especially encourage women who are Black, Asian or from other ethnic minority groups to apply, as 4 of our 5 current workers are white
