Associate Curator (Collections Review), Science Museum Group

Do you have a broad knowledge of the history of science, technology, engineering or industrial heritage? Do you have experience of working with and researching museum collections?

As part of a planned programme of Science Museum Group collection reviews, we are seeking an Associate Curator to join the Curatorial team. Over the next two years, you will be working closely with specialist curators across the Technology and Engineering and Industrial Heritage collections and the Senior Collections Review Officer to systematically review select collections housed at the National Collections Centre. As Associate Curator you will be responsible for carrying out research and examining the historical significance of the collections, enhancing information on the database, and sharing stories through social media and blogs.

You will be able to carry out high quality research and show an understanding of best practice in museum collections development. You will demonstrate enthusiasm for our collections and the ability to communicate to non-specialist audiences.

This role is available on a 2 year Fixed Term Contract basis.
