GO SUPERLAMBANANAS WINS MAJOR ARTS & BUSINESS INVESTMENT
Go Superlambananas, one of the most anticipated events of 2008 has announced a £30,000 Arts & Business investment that will enable them to commission some awe-inspiring additions to the summer’s public art blockbuster.
The investment will mean extra funds will be available for the realisation of innovative ideas on how to display the sculptures and Wild in Art, the company behind Go Superlambananas, are appealing to businesses to come up with weird and wonderful ways to add another dimension to event. Along with ground-level displays,
Wild in Art are hoping the Arts & Business investment will allow the Superlambananas to fly, perch and hover around the city to surprise and astonish visitors and to encourage residents to see their city in a new and exciting light.
Originally commissioned by the Liverpool Culture Company, this all-inclusive, mass participation event is enjoying incredible support from the business community after securing sponsorship deals with over 40 companies in both the public and private sectors so far.
Those onboard include United Utilities, Virgin, Uniform, Trinity Mirror, Alliance and Leicester, Finch Design Agency, Mal Maison, the Liverpool Commercial District Partnership, National Museums Liverpool, Peppered Sprout Design Agency, Aintree Hospitals Trust, Halton BC, the National Wildflower Centre, Sapporo Teppanayaki, Jury’s Inns and Sayers to name but a few.
Sally-Ann Wilkinson, Director of Wild in Art said: “Go Superlambananas is delighted to receive this investment from Arts & Business. It will enable us to work closely with a number of sponsors on some truly exciting projects ranging from community initiatives to large-scale installations with a real wow-factor. We’re particularly keen to attract sponsorship from the likes of construction companies who can use cranes, scaffolding or any other building techniques to enhance the trail.”
The incredibly successful relationship between Go Superlambananas and its business partners mirrors the results of a recent Arts & Business survey of over 4,500 arts organisations that revealed private investment in the arts is up by 11%
