In the 1960s, Lebanon was the first Arab country to join the space race. Led by physics teacher Manoug Manougian, a small group of students from the University of Haigazian began rocket tests with the dream of scientific discovery and exploration. Through archival footage as well as re-enactment this is a compelling investigation into the apparent absence of Lebanon’s space program, which sheds light on our perceptions of the past and present, as well as our collective memory.
Screening followed by Q&A with a director of Lebanese Rocket Society.
