SUMMARY:The Atkinson: Zahed Taj-Eddin: ANTIQUITA
DESCRIPTION:ANTIQUITA presents a compelling body of sculptural work by Zahe
 d Taj-Eddin\, a Syrian artist and archaeologist. Born in Aleppo\, a city s
haped by layered civilizations and recent rupture\, Taj-Eddin creates work
s that feel at once unearthed and urgently contemporary. Through clay and
bronze\, he excavates memory\, myth\, and collective trauma\, forging obje
cts that stand between relic and witness.\n\nAnimals and mythic figures po
pulate his symbolic theater: bulls evoke domination\; sheep\, the quiet co
mpliance of the masses\; alongside goats and horses\, which embody defianc
e and resistance. In counterbalance\, his female figures draw from ancient
goddess traditions\, honoring women as creators\, healers\, and custodian
s of continuity amid destruction.\n\nThe sculptures in ANTIQUITA are “ex
cavations of the present”\, marked by fractured textures and fire-forged
surfaces\, They are meditations on power\, survival\, and remembrance. Th
e exhibition invites viewers to confront the ruins of our time and to imag
ine\, within them\, the possibility of resilience and renewal.\n\nExplore
Zahed Taj-Eddin’s artistic journey and download the exhibition catalogue
