 ety.\n\nIn a world uncomfortably like our own\, a young woman called Amala
 ntis is arrested for asking a question. Her question is this: Who is the P
 risoner?\n\nWhen Amalantis disappears\, her lover Karnak goes looking for 
 her. He searches desperately at first\, then with a growing realization. T
 o find Amalantis\, he must first understand the meaning of her question.\n
 \nKarnak's search leads him into a terrifying world of lies\, oppression a
 nd fear at the heart of which lies the Prison. Then Karnak discovers that 
 he is not the only one looking for the truth.\n\nThe Freedom Artist is an 
 impassioned plea for justice and a penetrating examination of how freedom 
 is threatened in a post-truth society. In Ben Okri’s most significant no
 vel since the Booker Prize-winning The Famished Road\, he delivers a power
 ful and haunting call to arms.\n\nBen Okri was born in Minna\, Nigeria. Hi
 s childhood was divided between Nigeria\, where he saw first hand the cons
 equences of war\, and London. He has won many prizes over the years for hi
 s fiction including the Guardian Fiction Prize (1988) and the Man Booker P
 rize (1991)\, and is also an acclaimed essayist\, playwright\, and poet.\n
 \nSarah Maclennan is Head of Creative Writing at Liverpool John Moores Uni
 versity where she teaches poetry and prose writing at under-graduate and p
 ost-graduate level. She is passionate about community writing and her most
  recent research project involves working on the Learning Together program
 me\, developing an anthology of creative and autobiographical writing with
  participants who have experience of the criminal justice system.\n&gt\;&g
