SUMMARY:Williamson Art Gallery & Museum: Williamson Art Gallery: Wirral Met
  Degree Show 2019
DESCRIPTION:THE WILLIAMSON ART GALLERY AND MUSEUM IS PROUD TO ONCE AGAIN HO
ST THE WIRRAL METROPOLITAN BA FINE ART GRADUATION EXHIBITION.\n\nThe Degre
e Show is the culmination of three\, and sometimes six\, years of study. T
his makes great demands on the undergraduates and the families and friends
that support them\, and the show is a deserved celebration of this effort
.\n\nThis year’s exhibition demonstrates the continuing commitment Wirra
l Metropolitan BA Fine Art students make to establish their individual pra
ctice.  In the exhibition themes such as history\, landscape\, social rol
es and human behaviour are explored alongside more purely visual and poeti
c responses to the world around us.\n\nDuring times of economic uncertaint
y the value of the art and culture is always a key political issue. Museum
s\, galleries and artists are regarded by some as a luxury. However creati
vity and innovation are central to any thriving economy and essential to a
ny healthy community. We hope our students will contribute to this culture
of creativity and to the wider community in general.\n\nThe exhibition wi
ll by open from Saturday 18th May until Sunday 9th June.  The Williams
on is open Wednesday-Sunday 10am-5pm.\n\nTo find out what else is on at th
e Williamson\, check our Exhibitions pages.
