SUMMARY:Williamson Art Gallery & Museum: Williamson Art Gallery & Museum: T
 ransformation Station
DESCRIPTION:TRANSFORMATION STATION WILL BE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR EVERYONE TO C
ONTRIBUTE TO THE LOOK AND FEEL OF ASPECTS OF THE GALLERY AND MUSEUM.\n\nAl
l summer\, Gallery 6 has been transformed into a magical space within the
museum and gallery that will be a creative hub for communicating and consu
lting with staff and visitors. “The Transformation Station” will act a
s an interactive canvas to illustrate the consultation process\, exploring
how staff and visitors currently engage and how they would like to engage
and unlock the stories within the building and its collection.\n\nThe Tra
nsformation Station \n\nThe space has been created in collaboration with
gallery staff and local artist\, Joseph Venning and continues to allow for
additions of artefacts and space for interaction. The space houses a numb
er of interactive walls and enquiry corners with questions and stimulus fo
r consulting about the building and its collection with visitors. The desi
gn will enable staff and visitors to independently investigate and respond
to questions and suggestions and share their own ideas and response to ou
r enquiry.\n\nThe project will consult with all staff across the building
to investigate how we perceive the current gallery experience and how we c
an address issues and suggestions to develop and share our learning to cre
ate the best possible working environment and visitor experience.\nJoseph
Venning is a Wirral-based painter who specialises in large scale wall mur
al commissions for business\, domestic and public spaces.\nJoseph’s pain
tings often include familiar local landmarks\, reconfigured into chaotic\,
punky\, pop art compositions. However\, other pieces contrast this style
 and are painted in a traditional\, academic\, photorealistic style.\nJosep
h’s largest piece\, unveiled by the Lord Major of Liverpool\, is a giant
skyline of the city\, measuring over 50 feet long.\nJoseph first exhibite
d a painting in the Williamson Art Gallery at age 15 and 20 years later is
just as excited about this upcoming project.
