SUMMARY:Williamson Art Gallery & Museum: Williamson Art Gallery: Apollo Rem
 astered
DESCRIPTION:Apollo Remastered\nApril 28th – September 2nd 2023\nWilliam
son Art Gallery &amp\; Museum\, Birkenhead\nApollo Remastered at Birkenhe
ad’s Williamson Art Gallery &amp\; Museum will showcase spectacular imag
es from Andy Saunders’ extraordinary bestselling book on a never-before-
seen scale.\n\nThe original NASA photographic film from the Apollo mission
s is some of the most important and valuable film in existence. It is secu
rely stored in a frozen vault at Johnson Space Center\, Houston. It never
leaves the building – in fact\, the film rarely leaves the freezer. The
images it contains include the most significant moments in our history\, a
s humankind left the confines of our home planet for the first time and se
t foot on another world.\n\nFor half a century\, almost every image of the
Moon landings publicly available was produced from a lower-quality copy o
f these originals. Until now…\n\nApollo Remastered lands at Williamson
Art Gallery &amp\; Museum on April 28th 2023\, showcasing images from And
y Saunders’ extraordinary book of the same name. Saunders invites viewe
rs to explore the Moon landings in spectacular high definition for the ver
y first time. By applying pain-staking care and cutting-edge enhancement t
echniques\, he has created the highest quality Apollo photographs ever pro
duced.\n\nThe exhibition of these images at the Williamson will be the big
gest staged anywhere in the world to date. It will present the photographs
on a large scale\, offering awe-inspiring insight into one of our greates
 t endeavours.
