SUMMARY:Warrington Museum & Art Gallery: Warrington Museum & Art Gallery: T
he Worst Record Covers in the World
DESCRIPTION:The Worst Record Covers in the World\nFREE\nDATES\nSat 19 Oct 2
024 - Sun 19 Jan 2025\n\nThe Worst Record Covers in the World is a hilari
ous collection of over 650 dreadful record sleeves Steve Goldman has colle
cted.\n\nIn Steve’s own words:\n\n“To get into my collection the cover
s have to be unintentionally funny. I want a record where the designers ha
ve tried to do something that’s gone horribly wrong. It can’t just be
a performer in bad clothes or with an ugly face – though there are a cou
ple that have got in that were just irresistible. And it all has to be goo
d clean family fun – I don’t collect any record covers that are disgus
 ting\, gory\, violent\, sexist\, homophobic\, transphobic or racist.”\n\
nYou can hear what the records sound like – the weird\, the funny\, and
occasionally\, the good. We’ll hold a vote for your favourite Worst Reco
rd Covers. There are kids’ activities too – match the record to a part
of its cover\, and dress up as a sleeve. And there’s a book of the exhi
bition too.\n\n“It’s not often that a museum exhibition leaves you sno
rting with laughter and tittering to yourself for the rest of the day\, bu
t I defy anyone to visit the world’s worst record covers without laughin
g out loud.”\n– The Stoke Sentinel
