SUMMARY:Warrington Museum & Art Gallery: Warrington Museum & Art Gallery: I
became a mother by Lāsma Poiša
DESCRIPTION:I became a mother by Lāsma Poiša at Warrington Museum &amp\
 ; Art Gallery on Friday 8th March\, 7-9pm.\nI became a mother is a per
sonal journey into a universal female experience of metamorphosis\, evolut
ion\, and recovery. After Poiša became a parent\, photographing her daugh
ter became the only opportunity for a creative output. These photographs t
ranscended the immediate function of the family album revealing lesser-kno
wn sides of mothering. This work reconsiders the conventional representati
on the mother\, reframing birth\, and motherhood as a journey down the myt
hical well as part of a feminine initiation.\nMore details here
