I watched as th ey put a lot of thought and design into their work. They were very lively kids.”\n\nAngela Wright also admits to a fascination of the things that can be seen at the edge of the city\, looking at the backs of the shops in stead of the fronts\, and capturing those images.”\n\nHer work has been shown at the Bluecoat\, the University Senate House\, the Bridewell Galler y and there was a residency at the Walker.\n\nRetiring from full time teac hing has given Wright the breathing space she needs to devote time to her first love\, being an artist.\n\n“I’m doing more printmaking these day s. It always surprises me how they turn out\,” she says. It has given he r the chance to take an ever closer look at the world.\n\n“I called the exhibition the Edge of the City because things that are often not seen as attractive or beautiful are overlooked.  But they deserve to be closely l ooked at.\n\n“I originally came to Liverpool\,  via Leeds\, from London and things are not completely different in each city.”\n\n“Some peopl e will see my work as a celebration\, others as a lament\, “ added Wrigh t.\n\nThese days she can be found gazing her artistic eye over the old New Royal Hospital\, destined to be demolished when the new New Royal is fini shed.\n\nShe’s delighted that the old boiler house\, very Corbusian in s tyle\, will survive the bulldozers. But she admits there are other parts o f the old Royal she will miss.\n\nHer “edge of the city” eyes see thin gs that many people\, for one reason or another\, have not been able to ap preciate/\n\nANGELA WRIGHT\n\nEdge of the City\n\n"My ideas come from life at the edge of the city\, the patterns\, shapes\, and spaces that are par t of our ordinary everyday lives."\n\n16th February- 4th March 2017\n\nOpe ning Preview Night\nThursday 16th Feb 6-9pm\n\nGallery Opening Times (free entry)\nFridays &\; Saturdays 12-5pm\n(other times by appointment) ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.artinliverpool.com/wp-content/upload s/2017/02/flats-theme-and-variations-1-76x56cm.jpg LOCATION:View Two Gallery\, 23 Mathew Street\, Liverpool\, L2 6RE\, Liverpo ol\, United Kingdom GEO:53.406057;-2.987587 X-APPLE-STRUCTURED-LOCATION;VALUE=URI;X-ADDRESS=23 Mathew Street\, Liverpoo l\, L2 6RE\, Liverpool\, United Kingdom;X-APPLE-RADIUS=100;X-TITLE=View Tw o Gallery:geo:53.406057,-2.987587 END:VEVENT BEGIN:VTIMEZONE TZID:Europe/London X-LIC-LOCATION:Europe/London BEGIN:STANDARD DTSTART:20161030T010000 TZOFFSETFROM:+0100 TZOFFSETTO:+0000 TZNAME:GMT END:STANDARD END:VTIMEZONE END:VCALENDAR
