 hmoud El Haddad invites you to learn the elements of Baladi dancing in thi
 s practical workshop suitable for all levels of experience. \n\nRaks Bala
 di is a traditional type of dance used by Egyptian people of all ages to p
 hysically express joy and other emotions. Baladi means my country in Arabi
 c\, and this style of folk dance remains immensely popular.\n\nIn this wor
 kshop\, Mahmoud will lead participants through a warm-up\, technique exerc
 ises and a choreographed Baladi movement.\n\nNo previous dancing experienc
 e necessary. Participants are advised to wear comfortable clothing\, train
 ers\, and bring water.\n\nSuitable for ages 16+.\n\nBiography\n\nMahmoud E
 l Haddad is an Egyptian actor and dancer\, based in Paris since 2018. In 
 2014\, he founded his own theatre troupe “Act-two”\, formerly known as
  “Hand-Made”. He has worked with big names from the Middle East and Eu
 rope such as Ahmed El-Attar\, Thierry Niang\, Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota\, Henr
 i Jules Julien and others. He has participated in many international theat
 re festivals including Festival d’Avignon in official selection for the 
 years 2015 and 2019.\n\nMahmoud is a co-founder of Liberacts for Arts\, a 
 non-profit organisation based in France that aims to create an artistic br
 idge between East and West by creating\, developing and promoting art proj
 ects in all forms.\n\nwww.liberacts.org\n\nMahmoud El Haddad will present 
 the UK premiere of his solo performance Self-Entitlement at Unity Theatr
 e on Wednesday 12 July as part of Liverpool Arab Arts Festival 2023.\n\n\n
