DESCRIPTION:This 10 week course will teach you to perfect the human figure 
 across a programme of lessons developing your skills in life drawing\, inc

 Suitable for both newcomers / beginners and for those continuing from prev
 ious courses\, as the tutor will tailor the material to individual partici
 pants.\n\nProgramme:\n\nThe course is aimed at adults of any age\, both be
 ginners and the more advanced\, who want to directly work from a human mod
 el or still life.\n\nThere will be a human model for most of the sessions\
 , performing very short\, short\, and long poses giving the students a cha
 nce to practice drawing at various speeds. We also will make use of still 
 life and/or sculpture as well as printed pictures to practice on specific 
 skills.\n\nThe main method that is taught and practiced in the course is t
 he traditional “stick measurement” and “sight-size drawing method”
 . However\, the following topics will be covered throughout the course:\n\
 n- The sight-size method versus the comparative method of drawing\n\n- Usi
 ng alignments\, angles\, relative proportions\, and cross points in figure
  drawing\n\n- Postural drawing and quick drawing\n\n- Human body proportio
 ns\n\n- Shades and values\n\n- Foreshortening\n\n- Using a grid\n\n- Using
  a proportional divider\n\nTutor: Laleh Kamalian\n\nAs a member of Liver S
 ketching Club Liverpool from 2016 and a skilled artist\, Laleh has a speci
 al interest in the human figure and portrait drawing. She has experience t
 eaching drawing methods at various workshops and classes including dot-art
  life drawing course. “Being of an experimental mind I tend to research 
 all the tools\, skills and methods and have found great success with those

 s:\n\nEssential\n\n- Sketching paper\, at least at A3 size\, either in a h
 ardback pad or as loose paper sheets. If you are getting loose paper sheet
 s you will need a drawing board for support. You can find good quality pad
 s at very reasonable prices in “The Works” and “Cass Art”.\n\n- Se
 lection of graphite pencils – H's and B’s (eg. H2\, HB\, 2B\, 6B)\n\n-
  Masking tape for taping your paper onto the drawing board\n\n- Rubber (so
 ft - a kneadable eraser is preferable) and pencil sharpener\n\nRecommended
  but not essential\n\n- Portable easel\n\nImportant note: please don’t g
 et a tabletop easel. It needs to be a standalone\n\n- Drawing board\n\n---
