DESCRIPTION:This 10 week course will teach you to perfect the human figure 
 across a programme of lessons developing your skills in life drawing\, inc
 luding accurate measuring\, shading and drawing techniques.\n\n***To avoid

 of Liverpool Staff and Students the course is £120 with proof of Universi
 ty ID (There are a limit of 5 tickets available at this special price)\n\n
 Suitable for both newcomers / beginners and for those continuing from prev
 ious courses\, as the tutor will tailor the material to individual partici
 pants.\n\nBOOK HERE\n\nProgramme:\n\nThe course is aimed at adults of any 
 age\, both beginners and the more advanced\, who want to directly work fro
 m a human model or still life.\n\nThere will be a human model for most of 
 the sessions\, performing very short\, short\, and long poses giving the s
 tudents a chance to practice drawing at various speeds. We also will make 
 use of still life and/or sculpture as well as printed pictures to practice
  on specific skills.\n\nThe main method that is taught and practiced in th
 e course is the traditional “stick measurement” and “sight-size draw
 ing method”. However\, the following topics will be covered throughout t
 he course:\n\n- The sight-size method versus the comparative method of dra
 wing\n\n- Using alignments\, angles\, relative proportions\, and cross poi
 nts in figure drawing\n\n- Postural drawing and quick drawing\n\n- Human b
 ody proportions\n\n- Shades and values\n\n- Foreshortening\n\n- Using a gr
 id\n\n- Using a proportional divider\n\nTutor: Frank Leung\n\nFrank gradua
 ted in the Graphic Design course of Central Saint Martins College of Arts 
 and Design. He worked in a private art school for a decade in Hong Kong\, 
 where he learnt a lot of his knowledge and skills in painting from his col
 leagues and through his teaching. Born and raised in Hong Kong\, Frank is 
 now a Liverpool based artist since he moved to UK in 2021.\n\nDates:\n\nMo

 nEssential\n\n- Sketching paper\, at least at A3 size\, either in a hardba
 ck pad or as loose paper sheets. If you are getting loose paper sheets you
  will need a drawing board for support. You can find good quality pads at 
 very reasonable prices in “The Works” and “Cass Art”.\n\n- Selecti
 on of graphite pencils – H's and B’s (eg. H2\, HB\, 2B\, 6B)\n\n- Mask
 ing tape for taping your paper onto the drawing board\n\n- Rubber (soft - 
 a kneadable eraser is preferable) and pencil sharpener\n\nRecommended but 
 not essential\n\n- Portable easel\n\nImportant note: please don’t get a 
 tabletop easel. It needs to be a standalone\n\n- Drawing board\n\n--------
