SUMMARY:Poly Residency: Universus: Vs vs Rachel Cunningham Clarke
DESCRIPTION:Artists\, Lucy Moxon\, Ryan Watkins and Dan Smyth are recent Fi
ne Art graduates from Liverpool John Moores Uniersity. Earlier this year\,
these artists were awarded a 6 month residency at The Royal Standard Live
rpool\, starting in November 2016. Lucy\, Ryan and Dan are three painters
who make very different work. Although they love to discuss art\, they val
ue the act of ‘making’ and pride themselves on being extremely active
artists. They have come together to create an art group entitled\, 'Vs'. O
n Friday 16th December\, Vs invites you to their opening exhibition: 'UNIV
ERSUS: Vs vs Rachel Cunningham Clarke'\n\nDuring the six-month period of w
orking within their new space\; they have devised a program in which they
work under the instructions of other people. All three artists are keen to
explore and push their ideas through the minds of others. Their vision is
to create art which has evolved from the curatorial ideas of renowned art
ists – both locally and globally.\n\nLucy\, Ryan and Dan hope to build r
elationships with a variety of curators\, painters and other creatives who
m they will ask to dictate frameworks - within which\, they must create ar
t.\nThe first show introduces Vs to Rachel Cunningham Clark\, a London bas
ed artist. Together\, Vs and Rachel have become quite obsessed with astrol
ogical birth charts and the esoteric and ancient knowledge that surrounds
this theme.\n\nVs invites you to join them at their first exhibition openi
ng in their new home\, see what they've been up to and get involved!\n\nAl
so on Friday 16th December\, The Royal Standard proudly presents ‘Storag
e Hunters: TRS Christmas Edition’\; an experimental auction based on the
hit TV series Storage Hunters. ‘Storage Hunters: The Royal Standard Chr
istmas Edition’ is a launch event and fundraiser for the new premises\,
and will double as a Christmas celebration!\nEntry is £4 which includes a
drink on arrival. There will be DJ sets amongst much more entertainment!
Come and show your support!!\n\nDate: Friday 16th December 2016\nTime: 6pm
