SUMMARY:Unity Theatre: Unity Theatre: Home. Liberty
DESCRIPTION:HOME. LIBERTY @ UNITY THEATRE EXHIBITION SPACE\n1 MAY - 12 MAY
2023\n\n\n\n\nPart of the HOME project\n\nTo Know Us Better is a photog
raphy project and exhibition by Anton Shebetko\, celebrating queer Ukraini
ans who are living or temporarily staying in other countries in Europe. Th
eir experience and hopes for a better future are documented in a series of
portraits and heartfelt interviews.\n\nUnity Theatre exhibition is a part
of the HOME programme\, organised by Open Eye Gallery and commissioned
by Culture Liverpool for EuroFestival. Working together with Ukrainian cu
rators Viktoria Bavykina and Max Gorbatskyi (Ukrainian. Photographies) a
nd partners in Liverpool City Region\, HOME reflects on the question Wh
at does home mean?\n\nAn app\, designed by University of Liverpool team\,
will lead the EuroFestival guests and Liverpool City Region locals to inde
pendent spaces to see Home-themed Ukrainian photography collections in 5 t
rails across the city region. The themes of the trails are Land\, Making\,
Liberty\, Resistance\, Settings. Unity Theatre is the end point of the Li
berty trail.\n\nThe liberty to feel free and comfortable with yourself\, t
o be yourself wherever and however you want. Liberty that must be protecte
d\, fought for\, and defended. Liberty as national and individual\, as a c
hoice\, as responsibility.\n\nUnity Theatre  will also host an artwork by
a contemporary Ukrainian photographer and a postcard for sale from the fr
ont desk – all profit will go to the Hospitallers medical group\, an o
rganisation focusing on sourcing and delivering medical supplies for param
edics who save human lives in Ukraine. We invite everyone to collect the p
