programme for Fanchon Fröhlich: The Wrong Sex.\n\n—\n\nFanchon Froh
lich: The Wrong Sex focuses on how Fröhlich was overlooked during her lif
e as being perceived as ‘the wrong sex’ for an abstract expressionist
in the 1960s. Following on from this\, ERL brings together BADA and the re
gional organisations Homotopia\, LAAF and LESEAN to discuss Fröhlich’s
practice and archive\, and centre practitioners who contemporaneously face

rward from their respective organisation will receive professional develop
ment sessions with ERL staff following the symposium\, to help develop pla
ns for projects or receive support and guidance on key issues at the curre
nt stage in their practices.\n\nThe symposium serves to frame wider debate
s surrounding social prejudice and identity-based exclusion within the art
system and creative industries\, facilitating discussions to further unde
rstand their impacts and how we can begin to address the various issues th
at contribute to ongoing calls for inclusion/inclusive practices.\n\n—\n
