Our primary purp ose is artists’ development. We are dedicated to supporting the  most o utstanding emerging artists by providing the city’s best and most afford able studio spaces\, within a supportive creative community. We also devel op commissioning opportunities\, public exhibitions\, events and training. TRS delivers workshop programmes for the public and for the city’s arti sts collaborating with cross-sector partners\, including Liverpool Biennia l\, the Bluecoat\, FACT\, Bloomberg New Contemporaries\, Serf\, Newbridge Projects\, Homotopia\, Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU)\, A-N and T he Double  Negative.\n\nCelebrated as ‘one of the world’s most innova tive independent art spaces’ by No Soul For Sale – A Festival of Indep endents (2010\, Tate Modern\, London)\, TRS has worked with over 350 artis ts across 90 unique exhibitions and events since its inception 13 years ag o\, springboarding many participating artists and studio members to intern ational recognition.\n\nThis includes David Blandy\, Jamie Shovlin\, Leo F itzmaurice\, Holly Hendry\, Pio Abad\, Frances Disley\, Travis Alabanza\, Ed Atkins and Celia Hempton.\n\nSince 2006\, when there were few spaces fo r emerging artists to exhibit work and develop their practice\, TRS has wo rked continuously to link grassroots initiatives to more  established art s institutions in the North West. At a time when regeneration poses a thre at to the viability of many studio groups\, TRS has grown to support 39 ar tists based in 33  studios\, 3 project spaces and its own dedicated galle ry. TRS operates an exhibition programme and a studio development programm e\, fostering opportunities for exhibiting artists and studio members simu ltaneously.
