 vens\n\n‘I work in various media including video\, clay\, drawing and pr
 int. I am interested in making as a process which engages us with the mate
 rial world and makes us more aware of ourselves in the process.’ Christi
 ne Stevens is an artist and Gestalt psychotherapist. She is interested in 
 the interdisciplinary dialogue between visual arts and mental health. Chri
 stine experiments with cross-disciplinary activities which focus on the ex
 periential and the participative. This involves facilitating groups experi
 menting with making as a means of self- recognising\, inter-relating and r
 esponding.\n\nFollowing a PhD in Social Science\, Christine worked as a me
 ntal health social worker before returning to university to study Fine Art
  at Nottingham Trent University\, graduating in 2014. Her recent exhibitio
 ns include In Return at SIA Gallery Sheffield and re-turning at AirSpace G
 allery\, Stoke-On-Trent. She is the Director of Clay Studio at Primary\, N
 ottingham.\n\nAbout Refugee Women Connect\nRefugee Women Connect\, previou
 sly known as MRANG\, is a women-only charity set up to support women asylu
 m-seekers\, refugees and survivors of trafficking. They work together to b
 uild a safe life in the UK for all women in the asylum seeker and refugee 
 community.\n\nFor Let The Hands Do The Talking\, Christine Stevens has bee
 n working with Refugee Women to create clay objects relating to their ever
 yday experiences living in the UK.\n\nPart of the programme for Let The Ha
