SUMMARY:The Royal Standard: The Royal Standard: A Dream of Home
DESCRIPTION:'A Dream of Home\,' is the first solo exhibition from local Co
ntemporary Artist Amy Donegan\, and marks the end of her graduate Residenc
y with The Royal Standard. The exhibition aims to present a multifaceted m
ulti-disciplinary surrealist outlook on familiar locations and people\, an
d the influences each has on the sense of self identity. By blending image
ry with object\, childlike drawings with sculpture\, and in some incidence
s using building site grade materials\, audiences can peel back the glossy
facade of often meticulously constructed works to find a dissection of th
e memory's influence on our most intimate spaces and the influence that fa
mily\, working-class structures\, and social norms have on us. Embellishin
g memories\, the work aims to speak to our collective natural tendency to
gravitate towards any kind of link to the past\, and explore physical anch
ors that bring forth the melancholy sense of nostalgia.\nOpening Night Vie
wing takes place Friday 2nd August 6pm until late. The show continues to o
 pen daily 10am - 6pm until Friday 9th August!\nLocation: The Royal Standa
 rd\, Northern Lights\, Cains Brewery Village\, 3 Mann Street\, Liverpool
