SUMMARY:FACT: The Light Between Notes
DESCRIPTION:The light between notes is where some of the most powerful mome
nts happen. As Charlie Hooper-Williams plays\, those invisible moments bec
ome projection and colour: responding in real time to every note\, phrase
and pause\; giving shape to the music as it unfolds. No two performances a
re ever the same. Hooper-Williams spent years developing his own software\
, translating the piano's pitch\, dynamics\, rhythm and texture into light
that performs alongside him like a second instrument.\n\nDoors: 19:30\nPr
ogramme: 20:00\n\nPlease note that doors open 30 minutes before the first
screening and the programme will begin promptly at the listed time.\n\n\n\
n\nCharlie Hooper-Williams is a composer and audiovisual artist combining
neoclassical piano music with innovative technology. His performances inte
grate reactive visuals and generative systems\, creating immersive\, inter
active experiences. Recently\, Charlie has been exploring the possibilitie
s of his custom ‘harmonics machine\,’ which expands the expressive ran
ge of the acoustic piano. His work bridges music\, light\, and emergent pa
tterns\, with recent highlights including performances at Glastonbury Fest
ival and the Battersea Park Fireworks event.\n\nAn award-winning concert p
ianist and former software developer at Shazam\, Hooper-Williams brings to
gether music\, technology and visual art in a performance unlike a traditi
onal piano recital. Praised as "a highlight of the festival" by SXSW Londo
n's Adem Holness\, "Genius" by BBC Radio 3's Adam Walton\, and "Wonderful"
by KEXP\, his cinematic music draws on classical\, film and jazz influenc
es. Suitable for all ages.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAccessibility\nIf you have any acc
