SUMMARY:Albert Dock: The Beatles Story: Ringo in My Life (From Fan to Frien
 d)
DESCRIPTION:Join us at this lunchtime lecture event to hear fascinating ins
ights from Gary Astridge\, friend of Ringo Starr.\n\nThe amazing story of
how Gary’s passion for his idol resulted in him becoming part of Ringo
’s inner circle.\n\nThere have been numerous books written about The Bea
tles\, but not many books written with a Beatle!\n\nWhen Sir Ringo Starr w
anted to document the history of his entire Beatles drum kits and clothing
\, he knew that his drum curator/historian Gary Astridge was the man for t
he job.\n\nAfter a lifetime’s passion of researching\, collecting and ar
chiving every detail of Ringo’s drums\, it was an honour for Gary to wor
k alongside Ringo in producing surely one of the most comprehensive and be
autiful books about a Beatle.\n\n‘Beats and Threads’ combines all the
facts you could ever need about each kit (where they were bought\, played
and even what Ringo wore)\, with the most amazing quality photos. Truly a
definitive record of Ringo’s time with the Beatles.\n\nJoin us on Monday
26th August to meet Gary and hear about what it’s like to work alongsid
e Ringo. This is an up close and personal event\, with a chance for book-s
igning and questions.\n\nProfit from Gary Astridge’s talks at The Beatle
s Story will benefit The Lotus Foundation. The objectives of the Lotus Fou
ndation are to fund\, support\, participate in and promote charitable proj
ects aimed at advancing social welfare in diverse areas.\n\nBOOK HERE
