DESCRIPTION:Artists Kevin Laycock and Christopher Harris reinterpret histor
 ic quilt making through abstract painting and mixed media artworks. The ex
 hibition also showcases examples of British 19th century quilt making and 
 the artists’ responses to the patterns and structures contained within t
 hem.\n\nGawthorpe Textiles Collection provided the touchstone for Harris a
 nd Laycock’s latest work. Housed at the National Trust’s Gawthorpe Hal
 l\, the collection includes over 11\,000 items of textile history.\n\nOur 
 thanks are due to curator Rachel Midgley for her help in selecting and pre
 paring work from the Gawthorpe Textile Collection for display.
