SUMMARY:Tate Liverpool: Tate Exchange: State of the Nation
DESCRIPTION:STATE OF THE NATION\n22–28 JANUARY 2018 AT 10.00–16.50\n\n\
nMuseum of Homelessness presents State of the Nation – a year-long respo
nse to the homelessness crisis in the UK.\n\n\n\n\nAs part of the programm
e\, the museum is taking over Tate Exchange for a week to present projects
\, installations and events that explore the issues.\n\nThe focus for the
week is Frequently Asked Questions\, a project developed in collaboration
between artist Anthony Luvera and Gerald Mclaverty. This work presents the
findings of a project that reaches out to local authorities to respond to
questions asked from the point of view of homeless people enquiring about
a homeless individual’s right to access to basic living provisions such
  as shelter\, personal safety\, health\, food\, and communication.\n\nDuri
ng the week we will also be sharing A Soldier’s Story\, an installation
created by artist David Tovey that responds to the experiences of servicem
en and women who become homeless. The Soldiers have already appeared in Lo
ndon and Gloucester.\n\nThe whole week will include events sharing stories
from Liverpool and across the north. Taken together the week will offer a
snapshot of what’s happening on the streets\, hostels\, and in people
 ’s lives.\n\nProgrammed in association with Museum of Homelessness\, a
 Tate Exchange Associate\n\n
