SUMMARY:Tate Liverpool: Tate Liverpool: Roy Lich-Does-Time
DESCRIPTION:ROY LICH-DOES-TIME\n\nDAILY\n14–21 DECEMBER 2017\n\n\nJoin us
in Tate Exchange for a presentation of artwork helping to connect prisone
rs in the North West to their families.\n\n\n\n\nJoin us in Tate Exchange
for a presentation of artwork helping to connect prisoners in the North We
st to their families.\n\nInspired by Artist Rooms: Roy Lichtenstein in Fo
cus\, prisoners in the North West have taken part in a pioneering programm
e led by social enterprise Novus\, which aims to connect offenders with t
heir families.\n\nThe resulting artwork will be presented in Roy Licht-Doe
s-Time in Tate Exchange. It will feature photographic responses depicting
stories and perspectives of men at HMP Liverpool\, HMP Thorn Cross\, HMP G
arth\, HMP Altcourse and HMP Hindley .\n\nDrop in to discuss\, question an
d explore the project with members of staff from each prison in Tate Excha
nge every day.\n\nThis project has been led by Novus\, who deliver educati
on in prisons\, to help those in prison and their families to maintain and
build their relationships throughout their sentence.\n\nSustaining strong
family relationships while in prison can play an important role in suppor
ting offenders to tackle issues\, helping to reduce reoffending\, so that
on release they are ready to live safe\, healthy and productive lives.\n\n
Through art\, this project has encouraged the men to share their experienc
es with their families at events within the prison. By talking about the a
rtwork they have produced and what inspired it\, the men have also been ab
le to give their families a deeper sense of the prison environment.\n\nThi
s event has been programmed in association with Novus\, a Tate Exchange Li
 verpool Associate.\n\n
