 storyhouse.com\nThe conference programmed by Storyhouse – Chester’s mu
 lti award-winning theatre\, cinema and library\, taking place 4 – 7 Sept
 ember is the first ever annual gathering of a creative educator\, artist a
 nd academic network.\nStoryhouse\, also hosting the event\, will see leadi
 ng thinkers\, celebrated artists and practitioners from across the world c
 ome together to discuss\, debate and celebrate the importance of creative 
 education.  Speakers from the USA\, Australia\, Spain and Bethlehem are 
 on the bill.\nKeynote speakers include Dame Evelyn Glennie one of the wor
 ld’s most celebrated solo percussionist and frontman of Britpop band Sp
 ace\, Tommy Scott\, they join the conference line-up on Saturday 7 and Thu
 rsday 5  September\, respectively.\nOther speakers include: founder and 
 director of Alrowwad Cultural and Arts Society\, established in a refugee 
 camp in Bethlehem\, Abdelfattah Abusrour teaches Storytelling and Drama 
 in Education in Bethlehem University. He will discuss his philosophy for t
 eaching that uses performing and visual arts as a means of educating by de
 veloping peaceful self-expression\; and building peace within individuals.
 \nCharmaine Pollard is a counsellor\, life coach and a certified poetry t
 herapist with the USA-based International Federation for Biblio-Poetry The
 rapy (IFBT). She has facilitated poetry therapy groups in: schools\, priso
 ns\, clinical settings and in the community.\nRabia Saleemi will be under
 taking a practical workshop exploring processes for children to be free to
  ‘mark-make’ and what can be done to encourage and engage artistic c
 reation.\nFrom the Federation University in Australia\, Rob Davis will b
 e sharing research carried out on primary school aged children.\nNia Richa
 rds and Gwenfair Hughes from Arts Council of Wales will present on rec
 ent projects that are contributing to education reform.\nThe USA’s Mille
 rville University Lecturer Elizabeth Powers will be giving a presentatio
 n about encouraging conversations with children about their rights.\nAlso 
 appearing at the conference Principal Kelsall Primary School\, Director Ch
 eshire Leadership &amp\; Teaching Alliance\, David Waring will be giving
  a presentation on a broad and balanced curriculum.\nTickets for the confe
