SUMMARY:Staacks: Staacks: Northern Lands\, Northern Settlers
DESCRIPTION:“Northern Lands\, Northern Settlers”\,\nby Clare Flinn\n\nT
his collection of recent paintings reflects my love of the northern places
of UK and Ireland\, and the main elements that inspire me to paint: landf
orm\, colour and light. Almost unbidden\, features of humankind began to a
ppear in the pictures: at first a church or farmer’s fields\, leading to
villages on the edge of cliffs and viaducts sweeping across wide valleys\
, until the exhibition began to be about the powerful relationships betwee
n humans and the wild landscape.\n\nI am a Liverpool based painter\, worki
ng out of the Hub Studios in the Northern Lights building\, by Cains’s B
rewery. I recently completed a degree in Fine Art at Wirral Metropolitan C
 ollege.
