SUMMARY:Staacks: Staacks: "A Breath of Fresh Air" by Alison Grant
DESCRIPTION:"A Breath of Fresh Air" by Alison Grant\n\nAlison was born on t
he Wirral and moved to Manchester to train\, qualify and work as an archit
ect.  She worked in private practice in commercial and residential sector
s\, moving back to the Wirral in 2016. This return also marked the return
to her love of drawing and painting away from commercial demands. As Aliso
n explains\;\n\n"I have had little time in my architectural career for pai
nting but I have continued to draw and use watercolour. In the past couple
of years I have become aware of the strong artistic community in the Wirr
al and I have been encouraged to experiment more with acrylic and oils. Th
e intensity of colour in oils and potential transparency of acrylic has al
lowed me to explore deeper into my surroundings. The resulting work reflec
ts my fascination with the impact of the tides\, changing weather patterns
\, the reflections on wet sand\, sea and the marine lake.”\n\nCoupling h
er new found expression with the disciplines embedded as an Architect brin
gs a refreshing new perspective to the often painted Dee Estuary.\n\n“Re
turning to the Wirral from inland Cheshire is like a breath of fresh air!
I appreciate the coastal environment with a heightened awareness of light\
, colour and texture. It is a privilege to live here and to see how many p
eople stop and stare at the ever changing seascape that is the Dee Estuary
