DESCRIPTION:Open Studios Saturday 30 April 2016\, 11.00 - 15.00\nPlatform S
 tudios\, St Helens\n\nClaire Weetman:\nI'll be opening my studio to the pu
 blic a week on Saturday along with the four other artists who work there. 
 It will be a great opportunity to see what artists are working on as we'll
  have a programme of demonstrations\, talks and activities to take part in
  during the day. I'll be inviting visitors to help me create a short exper
 imental film as part of my development of an ambitious new work called Maz
 e of Displacement. In return for your assistance\, I'll give you a limited
  edition postcard artwork to take away with you.\n\nMaze of Displacement w
 ill be a maze whose walls are made of people creating emotive gestures wit
 h their hands and bodies\; whose walls and passageways shift\, open and cl
 ose for people and audiences to explore and experience. I plan to work alo
 ngside people\, groups and communities who have experience of displacement
 \, and collaboratively with a performer/ dancer/ choreographer who will ch
 allenge my artistic approach and bring high quality\, performative element
 s &amp\; viewpoints to the artwork. A developmental stage of Maze of Displ
 acement is being funded through a Heart of Glass Prototype Project - a pro
 gramme of small and ambitious art projects produced by artists and communi
 ties in St Helens\, supported through Arts Council England's Creative Peop

  studios and we've put together a programme of activities to take part in 
 to understand more about the work that the artists at Platform Studios mak
 e.\n\nPlatform Open Studios \, 1st Floor\, St Mary’s Market\, St Helens 
 WA10 1AG\nSaturday 30th April\, 11am - 3pm\nDrop in any time or visit one 
 of our activities\n\n11am:\nJoin Jacqui Priestley in her studio to learn h
 ow to monoprint. Use inks\, rollers and other tools to make an expressive 
 artwork that you can take home with you.\n\n11.45am:\nPainter Karen Thomps
 on has spent the past 6 months working at Platform Studios as one of our G
 raduate Bursary Artists. Karen will demonstrate her working processes usin
 g a variety of painting supports and mixed media\, which she has used in h
 er work produced during the bursary period.\n\n12.30pm:\nClaire Weetman is
  in the process of developing an artwork where the walls of a maze will be
  formed by 3000 humans. Come and help Claire create a short experimental f
 ilm towards this project and receive a limited edition postcard in exchang
 e for your time.\n\n1.15pm:\nIsobel Wood\, who works with photography\, ha
 s spent the past 6 months working at Platform Studios as one of our Gradua
 te Bursary Artists. Isobel will talk about the work that she has produced 
 in that period along with some of her working processes.\n\n2pm: Photograp
 her Angela Wilkinson will be joined in her studio by colleague Josie Matle
 y. They will be offering the chance to experience a portrait photography s
 hoot throughout the day\, join them at 2pm to learn about their work in mo
