Dead Air Records are proud to present an exclusive Q&amp\;A\, signing +
film screening of their bold arthouse film\, Opera Omnia\, at FACT on T
uesday 29 September. This unique event celebrates the release of Space Afr
ika's new album Quiet Storm\, on Dais Records.\n\nThis event starts at 18
:00 and finishes at 19:30.\n\nA limited number of tickets are available.

dditional copies will be available to buy at the event.\n\nJoin Space Afri
ka for an in-conversation with Dead Air Records about the immersive film a
nd the making of their new album\, Quiet Storm\, out Friday 25 September
on Dais Records.\n\nOpera Omnia\, directed by Valentin Noujaïm\, was sh
ot on 35mm and 16mm film using surveillance cameras. It unfurls a dreamlik
e atmosphere carried by the haunting melodies and evocative soundscapes of
the Space Afrika duo. Inspired by Dante Alighieri's Inferno\, the film fo
llows the night journey of two young black boys through the abandoned indu
strial spaces of Manchester\, taking forgotten souls back to life. The des
erted places are haunted by an opera singer (Axelle Fanyo)\, who lends a
ghostly\, lyrical presence to this melancholy universe.\n\nLulled by thei
r voices reciting verses from Dante's Inferno\, the film explores industri
al landscapes imbued with the memories of vanished workers\, often replace
d in cities obsessed with transformation and the erasure of the past. As t
hey wander through Manchester's urban labyrinth\, the two protagonists' en
counters and experiences reveal an inner quest for their identity and plac
e in the world.\n\nCombining live performance\, video and sound installati
on\, this immersive audiovisual experience transports viewers into the hea
rt of a sonic and visual odyssey.\n\nSpace Afrika is an experimental ambie
nt electronic music duo from Manchester\, UK\, formed in 2014 by longtime
friends Joshua Tarelle Reid and Joshua Inyang. Their genre-defying sound b
lends ambient techno\, trip-hop\, and field recordings to capture nocturna
l\, industrial urban landscapes.\n\nDead Air Records is an independent rec
ord shop in Liverpool’s Ropewalks\, specialising in affordable second-ha
nd vinyl alongside a selected range of new releases and reissues. Since op
ening in 2023\, the shop has become a welcoming space for music discovery\
, bringing artists\, labels and listeners together through in-store events
\, live sessions and its podcast.\n\n
