SUMMARY:Royal Liver Building: Royal Liver Building: Lucy Temple\, In The Sk
 y With Diamonds
DESCRIPTION:IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS\n\nAn exhibition by artist\nLucy T
 emple\nAt the Royal Liver Building\, May1st - May7th 2024\n\n\n“There is
a resonance between the world within us and the world we create around us
”.\n\n\nAcclaimed London artist Lucy Temple is bringing her extraordinar
y hand painted\, geometric water colours to the iconic Royal Liver Buildin
g in Liverpool.\n\nThis is Lucy’s first solo show outside London and she
feels honoured and excited to introduce her work to the city’s creative
and innovative audience.\n\n“Everything starts with a circle” Lucy r
eminds us.  Renowned psychologist Carl Jung saw Liverpool as being the ce
ntre of the metaphorical\, circle of creativity\, famously saying “Liver
pool is the pool of life”.\n\n“I’m painting the stars” Lucy refer
ences her favourite childhood song “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds”.
Her kaleidoscopic and intricately detailed work is based on ancient Islami
c designs nuanced with pop art influences.  The underlying subtext is the
heartfelt connection between mind\, body and spirit.  “We are all mad
e up of patterns” she says\, “there are patterns in flowers\; in trees
and seeds\; cloud formations\; sand shapes when the tide goes out\; patte
rns on our skin and in the iris of our eyes\; patterns in the stars and th
e solar system and everything under the sea\; in music and rhythm\; patter
ns in our behaviour and in our thinking”.\n\nLucy Temple was taught by K
eith Critchlow at the Kings Foundation School of Traditional Arts where sh
e completed her MA after working in textile and fabric merchandising.  Sh
e subsequently experienced a profound spiritual awakening which radically
changed her creative process and gave her the impetus to paint full time.\
n\nLucy has shown her work at:\n\nThe Decorative &amp\; Antiques Fair in B
attersea\nChristies New York and London\nRebecca Hossack London\n\nHer cli
 ents include\nEd O’Brien from Radiohead\nBoy George\nDavina McCall\nBill
Nighy\n\nwww.lucytemple.com\n\nThere is no entry fee to the show.\n
