 /Scows: A photography exhibition of the welsh community in Liverpool in th
 e late 1800’s and 1900’s.\n\n\n\n\nThe Welsh community was the biggest
  influx of people in Liverpool after the Irish and is often referred to by
  the Welsh as the capital of North Wales. \n\n\n\n\nThe inspiration for t
 his exhibition came as I looked through my own family photographs and was 
 intrigued by the photos from times that my own family lived in Liverpool. 
 Then when hoping to find more photographs online or from the Liverpool arc
 hives I was disappointed to find that there were no obvious examples of ph
 otographs of the community apart from photographs of the ‘Welsh Streets
 ’ that they built. \n\n\n\n\nThe purpose of this exhibition therefore w
 ill be to reflect on the history of the people that were part of the Welsh
  community in Liverpool and to add historical context to these photographs
  as a collection. My aim is to use personal photographs of people and the
 ir families who have lived or live in Liverpool. As a result\, I am hoping
  this will give the exhibition a personal quality that will interest not o
 nly the Liverpool Welsh but the wider community\, interested in this small
  but important part of Liverpool and Wales’ history.  \n\n\n\n\nMiriam
  Parry is in her final year at Liverpool John Moores University studying
  History of Art.\n\n\n\nExhibition opens Tuesday 5th March until Saturday
