SUMMARY:Liverpool: #OURART19 week in Liverpool
DESCRIPTION:#OURART19 WEEK IN LIVERPOOL AND ACROSS THE UK 4-9 NOV\n\nNext w
eek sees a major collaboration between national non-profit community ente
rprise STEAM Co.\, Liverpool John Moore's University\, Dot Art Schools\,
The RSA and The Black-E\, Liverpool's iconic community arts centre.\n\n\nS
TEAM Co held a launch event in the city nearly 5 years ago with Sir Ken
Robinson (who inspired them to start STEAM Co.) and have worked with schoo
ls across the city since\, most notably Florence Melly Primary as in this
60 second clip\n\nWe have to help children dream and find their passion.
Their art.\n\nSTEAM Co helps connect them with their art.\n\nAnd our commu
nities with their schools\n\nWe feel there is a #CreativityCrisis loomin
g in our schools\, not least because art is undervalued and misunderstood
by many people\, parents and teachers so to make it more accessible and li
nked to life pathways we say that 'art is what we call it when what we do
might connect us'.\n\n\n\nOne child’s art might be painting\, another’
s photography. Cooking or coding\, fashion or football\, robots or rockets
. Whatever\, we\n\nTo help make the word ‘art’ accessible\, understood
and embraced\, on 1st Jan we announced the #ARTCONNECTS19 Festival of Cre
ative Schools\, Work and Lives.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe #OURART19 Week is part of t
 he year-long co-created #ARTCONNECTS19 Festival of Creative Schools\, Wo
rk and Lives.\n\nIt will see a week long programme of activities in the c
ity and across the country to Showcase\, Celebrate and Inspire Art (the Po
wer of Creativity\, Tech and People) in School Communities.\n\nInspired in
no small way by the Keith Haring exhibition at Tate Liverpool\, the week
will see his work feature in 'WhatsYourArt?' sessions for primary children
in schools and at the Liverpool School of Art and Design and a screenin
g of the multi award winning creative education documentary 'Most Likely
to Succeed' with a panel including Sir Mark Featherstone-Witty OBE\, Foun
der of LIPA.\n\nFriday The Black-E Community Arts Centre will host the #AR
TattheHEART (of an Outstanding School Community) day of inspiring keynote
s\, short talks\, performances and workshops including Professor Simon Jam
es\, research Lead on the Durham Commission Report\, Bill Harpe - Co-found
