DESCRIPTION:POETRY BOOKMAKING WORKSHOP / SESSION 1\n6 MARCH 2017\n\n\n\n\nM
 onday 6 March / 2pm-3.30pm / Free / Booking Required\n\nInspired by some o
 f the photographs in the exhibition\, ‘North: Identity\, Photography\, F
 ashion’\, work with artist and poet Maria Isakova Bennett to create a un
 ique lotus book containing a new poem which you will draft during the firs
 t session.\n\nTwo linked workshops will mean that during the second sessio
 n you will complete your final draft of your poem and bind it in the cover
 s you will make in the workshop.\n\nSessions will run:\n\nMon 6th March\, 
 2pm-3.30pm\n\nMon 13th March\, 2pm-3.30pm\n\nThe event is suitable for bot
 h beginners and more experienced writers\, and for poets who are intereste
 d in creating their own books to contain their work.\n\nThe event is free\

 tt\n\nMaria has an MA in Creative Writing from Lancaster University\, and 
 postgraduate qualifications in Fine Art and Art History.\n\nShe has taught
  art and creative writing in a number of settings\, has been widely publis
 hed\, wrote and performed The Ferry on the Mersey in partnership with the 
 BBC\, as their Merseyside poet for the 2016 National Poetry Day festival (
 http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p04b4cv5)\, and has been shortlisted and p
 laced in several International Competitions including Bridport\, Cinnamon 
 Prizes\, and Mslexia. Maria was awarded first prize in the Ver Open Poetry
  Award judged by Clare Pollard. She collaborates with poet Michael Brown o
 n projects in galleries on Merseyside\, and works alongside poet Pauline R
