 , Craig Easton: Is Anybody Listening?\, we are inviting you to join us onl
 ine for a one hour conversation exploring the ethical considerations and r
 ole of social documentary photography today.\n\nCraig Easton’s practice 
 seeks to challenge typical stereotypes of Northern communities through aut
 hentic representation. Is Anybody Listening? features two award winning se
 ries\, which attempt to highlight this: Bank Top and Thatcher’s Children
 .\n\nCraig will introduce the two projects to set the scene\, followed by 
 an in-conversation and round table style discussion with Open Eye Gallery
 ’s Head of Exhibitions Mariama Attah\, Open Eye Gallery’s Head of Soci
 al Practice\, Liz Wewiora and you\, our audience.\n\nWe are keen for you t
 o contribute to the discussion\, exploring topics including the role of th
 e ‘outsider’ photographer\, ethical and critically engaged approaches 
 to working with communities and the increasing responsibility of the photo
 grapher in a time where social media shifts the dynamics of who and how st
 ories are shared.\n\nIs Anybody Listening? is presented by the University 
 of Salford and generously supported by the National Heritage Lottery Fund 
 and includes a dedicated engagement programme\, Our Time\, Our Place\, whi
 ch aims to raise the aspirations of young people across the North West reg
