SUMMARY:Open Eye Gallery: Open Eye Gallery (Online): Power of Place - Peer
 to Peer: UK/HK
DESCRIPTION:POWER OF PLACE – PEER TO PEER: UK/HK @ ONLINE\n26 SEPTEMBER -
9 OCTOBER 2022\n\nEverywhere is important. The way in which we experience
  place is ever-changing\; virtual\, physical\, contested\, peaceful. Over
the past two years many of us have been hunkered down at home and rarely v
enturing into new places. While the pandemic becomes the new normal\, peop
le start to reassess their relationships with places – where we live\, w
ork\, relax\, travel. In many cases our local surroundings have taken on n
ew significance\, and the place itself has also become home to extraordina
ry solidarity and resilience.\n\nPhotographers from the United Kingdom and
Hong Kong come together to explore the Power of Place. Crossing barriers
of physical distance\, this exchange highlights new ways of working remote
ly. They are interested in the ways that we can establish and build relati
onships to navigate the new virtual landscape.\n\nBrought together by Open
Eye Gallery\, WMA and Redeye\, 13 artists from both the UK and HK come to
gether to exchange thoughts\, ideas\, researches\, feedbacks and photograp
hs. They have been commissioned to create new artworks\, exchange and refl
ect on existing artworks and share their works through social media reside
nces across both UK and HK platforms.\n\nFor this project Redeye has also
created the Power of Place Directory. This is a growing inventory of photo
graphers who work in the UK and in Hong Kong on this subject\; a valuable
resource and inspiration for anyone thinking about how they relate to plac
e in their work.\n\nOnline residences can be found during the festival per
