.\n\nL— A City Through Its People brings together three distinct exhibi
tions\, the combined archives of which cover a time period of Liverpool fr
om the 1950s to the present day. Spanning evolutions in industry\, society
\, and leisure at a time of rapid change and challenge\, they share uniq
ue approaches and perspectives in telling a story about Liverpool\, its pe
ople\, and the ideals that lend the city charm and a distinct personality.
\n\n\n\nRED by Emma Case introduces us to the pride and glory of being pa
rt of the Liverpool football family\, featuring portraits\, images\, inte
rviews and original memorabilia donated by the football fans\, expressing
their generosity and spirit.\n\nScottie Press\, Britain’s longest runnin
g community newspaper and champion of people’s voices\, displays an arch
ive of original photographs donated by local residents or photographed by
Scottie Press photographers. Scottie Press will celebrate its 50th annive
rsary in February 2021\, and this display follows Liverpool through the ag
es\, observing the city through the lens of visual activism and grassroots
journalism.\n\nTell It Like It Is is a collaborative project between pho
tographer Ian Clegg and writer Laura Robertson. The image-text relationshi
p ruminates on the shifting nature of the city\, consisting of photographs
that remained as negatives for forty years\, introducing a collaborative
perspective on the city from two Liverpool residents and creative practiti
oners.\n\nThrough these archival projects\, we can see that the photograph
s we choose to keep or share with others reveal the ideas that we value\,
celebrating the creativity and communities that are the beating heart of t
he city.\n\nImages: Three lads on bikes\, Maud Street and Elaine Street\,
