SUMMARY:: Online: Shift Liverpool Launch Events
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nThe launch of a brand-new sustainability network for cult
ural organisations in the Liverpool City Region\n\n\nBOOK HERE\n\n\n\n\n\n
\n\nWelcome to Shift\, the brand-new sustainability network for cultural
organisations in the Liverpool City Region.\n\nThe science of climate chan
ge tells us that over the next 10 years urgent changes are needed in order
to save the planet from being pushed on to an irreversible path of extrem
e warming and mass extinctions. In the future we can also expect greater p
ressure on cultural organisations\, from local government and funders\, to
provide clear plans to becoming carbon neutral.\n\nThe Shift Liverpool ne
twork will bring us together to collaboratively respond to these challenge
s with the aims of:\n\n• Driving down our organisations’ carbon footpr
int\n\n• Moving away from environmentally damaging ways of working\n\n
 • Collectively promoting carbon reduction and offsetting\n\nWe will also
be joined by two guest speakers who will help explain the potential of ou
r collective response. They are:\n\n• Lucy Latham: Researcher\, consult
ant and advocate for the strategic integration of climate action within th
e cultural sector. She is the Arts Council England and Policy Programmes l
ead for Julie's Bicycle\, a charity that supports environmental sustainab
ility in the creative community.\n\n• Simon Curtis: The Chair for the M
anchester Arts Sustainability Team (MAST)\, the city's award-winning netwo
rk that collectively reduces the environmental impact within the arts sect
or. He is a strategic advisor and environmental consultant for cultural or
ganisations.\n\nThere are two event options for you to choose from:\n\n•
  Wednesday 24 March 18:00 – 19:00\n\n• Thursday 1 April 13:00 – 14:0
0\n\nBoth events contain the same presentations\, as we want to offer flex
ible time and date options to suit a range of participants.\n\nMembership
information will be announced during the event and added to the website af
terwards.\n\nIf you would like to contact us in advance of the event pleas
