DESCRIPTION:This roundtable discussion is part of Ignite\, DaDa's artist de
 velopment programme to help you re-engage with your inner creative.\n\nThi
 s session is one of our special features as part of DaDaFest International
  40.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nAbout this session\n\nWhat could health care look like 
 if it was designed by people with energy limiting conditions (ELCs)?\nHow 
 can creative workshops feed into research?\nHow can the creative research 
 process be made as accessible as possible?\n\nThis roundtable includes 5 a
 rtists involved in a research project using creative workshops to ideas ab
 out better futures of care for people with ELCs. The project built on rese
 arch by Chronic illness Inclusion which demonstrated the harm done by medi
 cal professional disregarding or disbelieving people’s accounts of livin
 g with ELCs.\n\nOnline creative workshops were facilitated for\nMuslim wom
 en\nLGBTQIA+ people\nPeople of marginalised gender (cis and trans women\, 
 trans men\, non-binary\, intersex and gender nonconforming people)\n\nWork
 shops involved zine making\, creative writing\, fairytale writing\, drawin
 g\, collage and mixed-media. Workshops were designed to be accessible for 
 people with ELC and asynchronous workshop options were hosted to maximise 
 opportunities to participate.\n\nEach workshop was led by a l creative pra
 ctitioners and artists with a participatory approach and together each gro
 up co-produced an artefact that spoke to their needs. The results are zine
 s\, podcasts\, stories\, comics\, animations and creative non-fiction.\n\n
 The artists involved were Khizra Ahmed Khairani Barokka (Okka)\, Julian 
 Gray\, Mish Green and Louise Kenward. The project was led by Professor Bet
 han Evans at The University of Liverpool\, working with Morag Rose and Ana
  Bê Pereira\, Chronic Illness Inclusion\, Liverpool Hope University\, Ste
 phanie Davis\, Healing Justice London\, and a team of independent research
 ers: Dr Aaliyah Shaikh Dr Alison Allam and Dr Anna Ruddock. Everyone in th
 e team has their own experiences of disability and / or chronic illness. S

 RC (Arts and Humanities Research Council) as part of a series of work to o
 n the future of health and social care\, funded to coincide with the 75th 
 anniversary of the NHS.\n\nThis workshop is funded by The University of Li
 verpool IAA fund in collaboration with DaDa. The artists will reflect on t
 he research process and share the work they created.\n\n*Energy Limiting C
 onditions (ELC)\, also called Energy Limiting Chronic Illnesses (ELCI)\, i
 nclude neurological\, musculoskeletal and auto-immune diseases\, ME/CFS\, 
 fibromyalgia and Long Covid\, amongst others. They involve energy impairme
 nt and debilitating fatigue that affect every part of people’s lives. Fo

 ernal quiet frustrations and righteous rage\, to overt injustice and activ
 ism\, DDFI40 will explore disability rights\, disability arts\, access\, a
 bleism and ‘Rage’ in an explosion of creativity.
