SUMMARY:Museum Of Liverpool: Museum of Liverpool: Art in Crisis by CRISIS U
 K
DESCRIPTION:Art in Crisis\nby CRISIS UK\n\nSat 15 July 2017\, 14:00 – 15:
30\n\n Book here\n\nArt in Crisis is a national programme of public event
s presenting compelling\, original artwork made by artists experiencing ho
melessness. Together\, they show how art enables us to relate to the world
and examine our place within it.\n\nHomelessness can be a devastating exp
erience\, leaving people without direction. Confidence and motivation ofte
n suffer without the security of a home.\n\nMaking art can spark a sense o
f self\, producing focus and a clear outlook on the future. Last year 95%
of the people who participated in art activities at Crisis found it increa
sed their motivation. Developing a creative practice builds the self-estee
m needed to move into education\, volunteering or employment.\n\nThroughou
t 2017\, Crisis will mark its 50th year and consider how we can look to a
future where homelessness is ended. Art in Crisis therefore considers the
proposition ‘What If’ through the eyes of our clients\, with pieces ex
amining the past\, considering the present and looking to the future.\n\nT
his event marks the culmination of a three-month project exploring film an
d photographic mediums. Crisis clients have worked with a professional art
 ist to produce a public exhibition.\n\ncrisis.org.uk/artincrisis @art_in_c
