 \nWhat is this all about then?\n\nAfter the fallout following Wise Childr
 en gaining a place in the new ACE portfolio of funded arts organisations\
 , many people highlighted their opinions on how the arts are funded. For s
 ome it works\, for others it doesn't.\n\nJoin us as we discuss how the art
 s should be funded - if at all! - with an inevitable focus on Liverpool.\n
 \nThe evening will start with short talks from a panel of speakers before 
 being opened up to a chaired debate involving the audience. Think Question
  Time\, except we'll all have a drink in our hands and no one is allowed t
 o talk about Brexit!\n\nThis event will happen to the backdrop of Make Li
 verpool hosting part of the Captain Beefhart celebrations\, the following 
 weekend. Nearly 50 artists will be installing the exhabition in our event

  some of the subjects that consume us when we talk about the city we live 
 in. We’ve talked about access to money\, meanwhile spaces and creative p
 laces\; writing\, starting a magazine and building a football club.\n\nMak
 e Liverpool is the temporary custodian of Folken for this three-part speci
 al edition. We've chosen three cracking topics to cover in this series\, s
 tarting with 'Gender Equity’\, moving on to 'How the arts are funded' an
 d finishing with ‘Gentrification'. Join us!
